Uchungu wa mwana aujuaye ni mzazi-8




Maua baada yam bio ndefu za masafwa marefu yasiyojulikana mwisho wake, aliishiwa nguvu, na hakuweza kwenda mbele zaidi maana kwa mbele yake kulikuwa na majabari, nyika, na miinuko mikali, akasimama, na hata kukaa chini, na kujilaza kwenye majali laini, akahisi hapo alipolala kuna maji maji.

Kwana kiusalama akatizama huko alikotoka, alichoona ni misitu na nyika, na karibu yake kuna bwawa kubwa la maji machafu, akalitizama kwa makini,na hapoa akawaona wale wadudu waitwayo ruba, akasogeza mguu wake mbali na maji, maana sifa za hawo wadudu wakikuuma huwa wanazama mwilini, na ukitaka kumtoa na mkono anateleza,kwahiyo labda uwe na ugoro umpake,,au kisu kikali ukate sehemu ile aliyouma, na kutumia nguvu kumvuta!

Hakuamini kuwa alilipita hilo bwawa bila kujua, na hata bila kuzama,maana hilo bwawa halipitiki, lina maji na mtope,ukizama humo unapotea moja kwa moja, hakuna anayejua urefu wa kina chake, na humo ndani utapambana na hawo ruba na mamba, lakini yeye alipita hapo hadi ng’amboya pili yake bila kujua , bila kuzama,na bila kuumwa na hawo wadudu, hakuamini!

Alipowafikiria hawo wadudu ikabidi ajikague mwili mzima, akiwa na wasiwasi wasije kuwa hawo wadudu wamemgandia miguuni mwake kuanza kuzama ndani, maana wapo kama funza,au minyo mirefu,,lakini hakuona kitu, ila miguu ilikuwa ikiuma kwa ajili ya kukanya miba,na kuchoka kwa kukimbia pekupeku,hakumbuki kabisa viatu vilimtoka wapi,kwamuda huo hakujali sana.

Alijituliza na ubavuni akaanza kuskia maumivu makali, kuna miiba ilimchoma, na sio miiba tu ni miti, kwani wakati anakimbia na kukatiza kunwa  wakati mwingine alikuwa akikimbia huku  anaangalia nyuma kuona kama anafuatiliwa, na hapo hujikuta kajibamiza kwenye miti yenye matawi yenye ncha kali, na wakati mwingine hudondokea miiba hiyo au miti hiyo yeye ncha kali, huenda hapo ndipo alipoumia ubavuni …

Kuna muda lidondoka, akajikuta kaganda kwenye miti iliyomchoma na hakuweza hata kujinasua maana ile miti ilimchoma utafikiri kabanikwa, na wakati anajitahidi kujikwamua kwa utaratibu , mara akasikia vichakani miti na vijiti vikuvunjika,ikiashiria kuwa kuna kitu kinamnyemelea,  akajua huyu ni mnyamamkali, kwa ajili ya ule uwoga uliompta kwa muda huo, akajinausa kwa haraka kutoka kwenye ile miti na miba iliyomchoma, na kuanza kukimbia tena.

Wakati anakimbia akasikia nyuma yake kitu kikimfuatilia, akajua huyu kama sio simba ni chui au fisi, basi akaongeza mbio kukimbia, na kweli kila mara alipojitahidi kukimbia bado alihisi kuna kitu kikimfuatilia kwa karibu, lakini kikiwa kimejificha kiasi kwamba hakionekani kwani kulikuwa na majani marefu, akajua leo anakufa, kamkimbia simba mtu na sasa anapambana na simba mnyama, alikimbia kuliko maelezo.

Tahamaki ndio yupo ngambo ya hilo bwawa,bwawa ambalo linatambulikana kama bwawa la mamba, humo kuna mamba,kuna wadudu wabaya, kuna ruba, na hakuna mtu katika hali ya kawaida anaweza kupita sehemu hiyo.

‘Sasa mimi nilipita juu ya hili bwawa,lenye matope, bila kuzama?’ akajiuliza na  kuangalia sehemu aliyopita. Na kweli kulionyesha njia aliyopitia na maji yalishaanza kujaa, na kuyafukia yale majani aliyokuwa kayakanyaga na kulala. Baada ya kuona hivyo, akajiangalia mwilini na kujiona kweli kajaa matope, nguo hazitamaniki.

‘Sasa nitarudije huko nilipotoka?’ akajiuliza.

Na wakati anawaza hilo mara akasikia kelele, hizo ni kelele za watu, akajua labda ni baba yake huyo anaendelea kumtafuta, alichofanya ni kwenda mbele zaidi na huko akafikia kwenye sehemu iliyoshonana, na kutengeneza kitu kama kiota, hapo akasema itakuwa makao yake ya muda, lakini akaogoa isije ikawa ni sehemu anapoishi mnyama, au nyoka wakubwa

‘Nitakaa hapa hapa, kwani mimi ni sawa na mfu tu, ngoja tu nikaliwe na hayo machatu, nitafanyaje kama wazazi hawanitaki tena nina maana gani kwao ‘akasema ,lakini akili ilipomjia picha ya chatu, akasimama, na mara kwa mbali akaona kitu cha ajabu.

Kwenye lile bwawa kuna mizizi mirefu ambayo imeshikilia miti mikubwa, mizizi hiyo ni kama kamba inayoninging’inia kutoka juu hadi kufikia kwenye lile bwawa. Sasa aliona watu wa ajabu wakiitumia ile mizizi kuninginia kutoka sehemu  moja hadi nyingine,ilionekana ni kama njia ya usafiri, kuvuka lile bwawa kutoka upande mmoja hadi ng’amb ya pili. Mtu hutembea na hizo kamba akiwa kama anabemba na kupokea kamba nyingine baada ya nyingine hadi anafika ng’ambo ya pili, ni kama wanasarakasi.

Watu wale walikuwa  wamvaa ngozi za wanyama na sehemu kubwa ya mwili wao wapo wazi, na waanwake walikuwa wameacha sehemu ya mtiti yao wazi,kila mmoja kabeba mishale na upinde, kuonyesha kuwa ni wawindaji, na wanawake wamebeba vikapu vilivyotengenezwa kwa ngozi za wanyama. Na Maua alipona hivyo, akili yake ikamkumbusha kuhusu watu wa ajabu wanaoishi mapangoni.

Maua kama walivyo watoto wengine, kila wakikutana na babu za bibi zao hupenda kudadisi mambo mbalimbali. Siku moja Maua alimuuliza babu yao, wakati wanapita kwenye msitu huo mkubwa, alitaka kujua kuna nini ndani ya msitu huo , na kweli kuna watu wanaweza kuingia humo.

Babu yake aliposikia hilo swali, akatafuta mbinu za kuvunga vunga, ilimradi wapiti mbali na huo msitu,kwani yeye mwenyewe  alishasikia toka enzi za utoto wake, kuwa ukipita kwenye huo msitu na ukaanza kuuongelea mabaya, hutawaweza kufika mwiho wa safari yako.

Na walipofika mbali na huo msitu , babu yake akamwambia mjukuu wake kuwa humo ndani ndio kuna watu wa asili, watu ambao wanaishi ndani ya mapango, na chakula chao kikuu ni nyama, mizizi na matunda ya porini, huwa wanavyaa ngozi za wanyama.

‘Wapo kama sisi, yaani ni binadamu kama sisi?’ akauliza Maua.

‘Ndio wapo kama sisi, ni binadamu kama sisi, lakini wao hawataki mabadiliko, hawataki kuishi kama sisi, maisha yao hayana tofauti na wanyama wa porini, wao wakituona sisi wanatudharau kuwa tumepotea' akasema babu.

‘Ina maana kuna muda wanaoenakana, na hata kuongea na sisi na je lugha yao ipoje, inajulikana?’ akauliza Maua.

‘Utofauti wao ni maisha yao, yasiyotaka mabadiliko, na kwasababu wamezea kukaa mapangoni, miili yao inakuwa kama ina manyoya , na wengine wana nywele nyingi, na hawavai nguo kama sisi mara nyingi utawakuta wamevaa ngozi na magome ya miti.

‘Kwahiyo wanatisha, watakuwa kama wanyama?’ akauliza.

‘Kweli ukiwaoana wanatisha, na watu wengine hudai wanakuala nyama za watu,’akasema baba na kumfanya Maua aogope.

‘Wanakula nyama za watu..? babu haiwezekani, maana wewe mwenyewe ulishawahi kunihadithia kuwa watu wanakula nyama za wanadamu ni wanga, ni wachawi, mtu w akawaida na akili yake timamu hawezi kula nyama za watu..’akasema Maua.

‘Hizo ni imani za watu, nasikia kuwa kwenye imani zao  hawo watu wa ajabu ni kuwa wakila nyama zetu na kutumia viungo vyetu kwenye mambo yao, wanakuwa na maisha mazuri, na wanafanikiwa katika mambo yao ya uzazi, imani hizo ni sawa na imani za hawa watu wanaodanganywa na waganga wa kienyeji kuwa  wakipata miili ya albino watapata utajiri, na wao wenyewe kwa wenyewe wanadanganya hivyo hivyo,kuwa wakipata nyama zetu watafanikiwa katika mambo yao’akasema babu.

‘Wewe alikusimulia nani?’ akaulizwa.

‘Kuna mwanamke mmoja alitokea huko akapotea na kukutwa akihangaika, mtu mmoja akamchukua, na waakishi naye, hadi akafikia kumuoa,  yeye ndiye aliyakuja kutoa siri za huko. Na kila siku kuna watu wanapotea kiajbu ajabu,na ukiuliza sana utaambia huyo mtu alikwenda kuiwinda au kama ni mwanamke utasikia alikwenda kukata kuni, au warina asali, kwa taarifa za haraka haraka ni kuwa huenda walikamatwa na hawo watu wa msituni wakafanywa kitoweo,kuliwa na wanyama wakali, au kumezwa na chatu.

Kisa kama hiki kutoka kwa babu yake, alikisikia kwa wanafunzi wengine waliohadithia hivyo hivyo , kwahiyoakajua kuwa kweli sio hadithi za babu za kutunga ,ila kuna ukweli ndani yake,….

Maua na watoto wenzake wakawa hawapiti njia ya huo msitu toka asimuliwe hiyo habari na babu yake na habari hizi zikawa zimesambaa kila kona, hata watu wazima wanaogopa kufika huko, labda wawidnaji wa siku moja moja, na wao kila wakija wanakuja na habari mbaya za kutisha, na wakati mwingine mmoja wao harudi, hupotelea huko huko kiajabu.

Kwa habari hizo, watu wengi waliamini kuwa huko hakuendeki, na msitu huo ni msitu wa kifo, sio wa kuendea. Babu yake yeye anasema alikuwa akifiak siku moja moja kwenda kuchimba dawa zake, na huwa hafiki mbali. Leo hii yupo ndani ya huo msitu, sio hadithi tena, sio visa vya kusadikika tena, Maua akajionea mwenyewe, na katiak akili yake hakurarajia kuwa ipo siku ataingia huo msitu, au ipo siku atakutana na hawo watu.  Leo siku imetimia na myoni akasema ama kweli lisemwalo lipo.

Maua akaishiwa na nguvu, hakujua sasa afanye nini, kwani kila mahali kazungukuwa na maadui, hawezi kuvuka hilo bwawa, kwasababu kuna mamba na ruba, na hata ulivuka hilo bwawa kwa mbele yake ndipo wanapoishi wanyama kama simba chui na wengineo, kwasababu eneo hilo ni karibu na mbuga za wanyama. Na  huku alipo, akitaka kwenda mbele zaidi, huko hakuendeki, kwani ni kuna miamab na makorongo, ambayo huishi chatu, nyoka wakubwa na wenye sumu kali.

Huko kwa taarifa za babu yake, aliwahi kusikia kuwa ukivuka huo mto kwa mbele hakuendeki, hakuna binadamu aliyewahi kwenda huko , maana ni maeneo ya chatu, na majoka wakubwa, hata hali ya hewa yake imejaa haufu za ajabu, harufu yeka tu ni sumu kwa biandamu.

Kukatisha kushoto au kulia, kuna hawo watu wa mapangoni, ambao hadithi zake zinatisha, ina maana yeye sasa anaweza kuwa kitoweo cha hawo watu, na hata hivyo, kama atafanikiwa kutoroka  maeneo hayo ya hatari, atakwenda wapi, maana nyumbani napo baba kageuka kuwa simba, simba mkali kuliko simba mnyama….akaona ni heri , hata kama ana njaa, ni bora tu, ajiudie kwenye kiota chake, alichofanya ni kutambaa,hadi mbali kidogo naupeo wa wale watu wa ajabu

Na alipokaribia eneo la kiota chake, akasimama na kuanza kutemba polepole, huku mwili ukitetemeka kwa woga, tumbo likiuma kwa njaa, mdomo umekauka kwa kiu, na akili imechoka kufikiri, lakini ni lazima ajitahidi kutafuta chochote ili aweze kuishi, akakumbuka kuwa ndani ya hicho kiota chake alibakiza matunda kidogo, na aina fulani ya mizizi kama mihogo, ambayo huliwa.

Alipofika kwenye kiota chake akahisi kama harufu ya nyama,…nyama iliyokuwa ikibanikwa jikoni, akasimama na tumbo likanguruma kwa njaa, licha uwoga, bado uchu na njaa vilitawala nafasi yake. Hata hivyo kwasababu ya uwoga, hakuweza kuingia ndani akasimama kwa muda akiwa kaduwaa na kushindwa kuamua lakufanya.

Akasikia mchakato wa kitu, kama mtu au kitu kinatembea , hakuwa na uhakika kuwa sauti hiyo imetoka kwenye kibanda chake cha muda alichojenga au ni maeneo ya karibu, lakini alikuwa na uhakika kuwa ni sauto ya kitu kinatembea, akaanza kurudi kinyume nyume, akitaka kukimbia, lakini kabla hajasogea mbali, akahisi kwa nyuma yake kuna mtu au kitu, kwa jinsi uwoga ulivyomshika, akaogoap hata kugeuza kichwa,…akasimama. Akahisi mtu au kitu hicho kinamjia pale aliposimama, akapanua mdomo kupiga ukelele.

Kabla hajafunua mdomo ukelele,  akashikwa na kitu begani, ugumu wake kama chuma, na hata mdomo ulipofunguka, ulishawahiwa na mkono wenye manyoya ukaziba mdomo wake, vitendo hivyo vilifanyika kwa haraka na kwa jinsi alivyoogopa, na kwa ajinsi ya njaa, na kwa jinsi ya maumivi ya vidonda mwilini, akajikuta akizama kwenye giza nene, na kabla hajapoteza fahamu alihisi kama anaiunuliwa hewani, kama kubebwa..

WAZO LA LEO: Tunatofautiana sana katika maisha, kikipato, leo ukilia njaa, na kulalamika shida kuna wengine wanakuona wewe una afadhali, na halikadhalika, kuna ambao hawajui kabisa njaa, au maisha magumu na hata ukimwambia una shida huenda akafikia kukushangaa, na hata kukuona labda wewe ni mzembe. Lakini tujue kuwa yote ni maisha,kupata au kukosa yote ni majaliwa ya muumba, ukipata mshukuru yeye na ukikosa mshukuru yeye pia, kama wasemavyo wahenga, aliyekupa wewe ndiye aliyeninyima mimi.
